New poll shows Rob Ford’s support isn’t as strong as it seemed

Even admitting to smoking crack cocaine didn’t put a dent in Rob Ford’s job approval rating—a fact that has amazed political pollsters and late-night comedians alike. However, a new poll by Ipsos Reid suggests that, while Torontonians may approve of the job Ford is doing, that doesn’t mean they want him to remain mayor. Of the 600 residents polled, only 24 per cent think Rob Ford should stay in his job, compared to 41 per cent who think Ford get out of politics altogether and another 35 per cent who say he should take a leave of several months to get treatment. (A majority of Toronto’s council feels the same way: today, 30 out of 44 councillors signed a petition asking Ford to step aside.) Still, when asked about his performance as mayor, 40 per cent of Torontonians said they more-or-less approve of the work he’s done. Clearly another situation where asking the “correct questions” matters. [Ipsos Reid]
Nice photo!
Ford is a good mayor, dedicated to people, not to robing us as an others. Privet should be privet. Where is your class and honor people even look at that so private videos. This is a crime, showing such privet staff with out person permission!!!!!! Garbage. Politic, and dirty fight and game for power. More that hyenas are trying theirs dirty games I am more supporting him, even I was not on the begin. It is so sad that he as big kid is not more watchful, FOR US tax payers, his people.
..what?
Slawomir: If you did these things, you would lose your job and go to jail. Why should we hold the Mayor to a lower standard of behavior than anyone else?
Rob Ford says he is dedicated to his people (the taxpayers), but he’s also a terrible leader, has problems with booze (and possibly drugs) and should not be our mayor. Caring about taxpayers is NOT what makes you a good mayor, let alone a good leader (which is what a mayor is supposed to be). It’s like defending convicted rapist by saying they’re really a nice person and good with children, therefore we shouldn’t be meanies. I don’t care how much you care about taxpayers. If you’re getting hammered in public, driving drunk, being a racist and a homophobe, lying over and over and over and over again (and getting caught in the lie every time), keeping drug dealers and convicts as friends, having the police show up at your house for domestic violence, and everything else we’ve seen, then you should NOT be mayor. Getting wasted, coaching football, and having letterhead that says “Mayor of Toronto” was more important to Rob Ford than actually being a leader for this great city. And if you think he’s a great mayor, I would hate to see what kind of municipal politicians you have back in your home country, Slawomir! Jesus.
MR FORD is a good mayor, made some mistakes , but im sure no one is perfect in Toronto. DONT give up , and I wish u and your family all the best in life MR FORD.
With all those savings of taxpayer’s money I wonder why taxes increased 4.5%
looks about the same as the other administrations to me.
This man’s behavior is outrageous and certainly not respectful of the
residents of Toronto. A total embarrassment to the city and is being talked about worldwide. I think Toronto can get along just fine without
Rob as mayor thanks.
