1. This lady is not a public figure. Be petty in private if you must. Don’t use your publication scrutinize her already apparently troubled life because of her proximate relationship to your dirtbag mayor.

2. It’s about the fact that this is a prominent family in Toronto that is NEVER HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR IRRESPONSIBLE ACTIONS. So yes, scrutinize away. As a reader and follower of Toronto news the fact that her family is a wealthy and influential fabric of this city does make her public life relevant.

3. And I’m sorry but to further add: 25 hours of community service is nothing and it should have been done. It’s the least this woman can do to give back to society. It’s also representative of the fact that she was able to get away with something because she probably could afford good lawyers to fight for a lesser sentence. Exposing privilege for what it is is in the public interest, period.

6. I think the story is relevant, just as the stories of Rob hanging out with with the Dixon City Bloods is relevant – it at least partially explains his character and why he is the way he is. 10. Give back to society? Get away with something? A lesser sentence? What is it you think she did? She shouldn’t be punished more harshly because she has dumb-ass family in public office. She should only be sentenced FOR HER OWN ACTIONS. She shoplifted toothbrushes. Stupid, yes, but NO ONE gets jail time for that – she got the same sentence as you would have. That’s fair.

Lives on goverment money, gets methadone supplied by the government this is tax payers money. Rob ford has done his best to keep her hidden from public eye as she is an embarrassment to the whole family

12. This evil woman knowen as kathy ford was never charged with accessory after the murder of my brother Mike Kiklas. Even though she taunted her the husband ennio with her affection for my brother that brought on my brothers passing. I hope her life is hell.

13. My sympathies to you. It is awful when bad things happen to good people…but even worse when good things happen to bad people. The justice system does not correct all moral wrongs.

14. Okay, I understand the toothbrush thing isn’t a big deal. The fact that she is wasting the court’s time by showing up late time after time/not at all is absolutely ridiculous and there’s no excuse. Not taking the judicial system seriously should result in a punishment within itself. And I’m pointing out that she got off super easy because she can afford a good lawyer. I’ve heard of people receiving way harsher punishments for stupider, smaller crimes. Not showing up to court in any case basically just confirms the fact that she believes she is above the law.

19. The Ford family influence is almost dead and I agree that Ford Nation is in trouble. Its failure after failure after failure of their supposed influence. Rob and Doug have no more favours they can call in. Not with the police (they burnt that bridge long ago), not with province (Hudak wants no contact and neither does Wynne), not with the feds (Flaherty passed away). And they have nothing they can trade. They are radioactive. Finally some social justice. Death by a thousand cuts. Now council can deal some more blows. First they need to renew Fiona Crean’s role for another term recognizing her professionalism in the TCHC fiasco and second they need to re-open the Exhibition Board’s decision (4-3) to ban other music and dance events at the Ex grounds. These events bring in over 1 million per year, but somehow (Mammolitti perhaps) the board voted in favour of Rob’s friend Z who was facing competition from these events. and asked for the ban.

Yes it is distasteful isn’t it…going after family members….but if you have read Crazy Town, Robyn Doolittle makes a very good point that you must look at the family dynamics starting with Doug Ford Sr. The family history explains a lot of the background as to what makes Rob Ford a pathelogical liar and a bully. Doug Sr. one of 9 kids of a single parent who lived on welfare became a scrapper in his youth. He was the enforcer of his gang on the Danforth. Bullshit baffles brains mentality. Might is right. Consumate salesman telling whoppers hmself. Never trust anybody (===> because I lie in my job). Guard your money and even hide your money in coffee cans in the basement. Give lie detector tests to your kids because you don’t trust them because everybody lies (====> no wonder Rob and Doug believe you should lie through your teeth because that’s what everybody does, right?) So poor Rob grew up in this household of distrust as a shy socially awkward grade 9’er when his older sister Kathy was already a heroin addict, his brother Randy also an addict was an enforcer for drug dealers, and Doug Jr was the main drug dealer at Richview Mall. What a family to look up to. What else should he expect?

21. Sorry Bradley….but Kathy is an important part of the Ford Family influence and specifically Rob Ford. She and her mother gave an interview for CP24 to speak to Rob’s personal demons. Her view was Rob is NOT an addict.

22. I forgt to mention below that Kathy is indeed relevant these days. Her “husband” Scott MacIntyre was severley beaten up in the West Detention Centre in 2012 by 300 lb Aedan Petros, a former defensive tackle for the Don Bosco team and coached by Rob Ford. It has been alleged that Rob orchestrated this beating to keep him quiet. Interesting enough Kathy pleaded with the judge to still allow her to be able to contact Scott after his release to help him with his addiction therapy….but Rob Ford insisted on a no contact order with him or any member of his family. Maybe Kathy is subconsciously trying to cause problems for her brother. (Remember that only Randy, Doug and Rob inherited Delco and she lives by their good graces)
    Scott MacIntyre has now filed a civil lawsuit against Rob Ford and the West Detention Centre. It is due to be heard this year.

23. Kathys addictions rule her life. That is why she was left out of the will. Her father felt compassion for her after my brothers murder. But vaboom she hooks up with another addict and gets shot in the head. And now her father is disgusted with her, even moving her out of the family home. Senior has now passed on, from stress…………..
