Conservative spies are infiltrating the Liberal ranks (or at least the Liberals say they are)

Earlier today, we called for a little muckraking from Queen’s Park reporters to shake up what’s turning out to be a remarkably dull provincial election. Instead, it seems, we received allegations of political espionage, which, we have to admit, may be even better. The Globe and Mail reports that “sources on [Dalton] McGuinty’s campaign” claim to have knowingly fed information to a Progressive Conservative mole who had infiltrated their ranks and recorded phone calls. The result was Sunday’s leak of key parts of the Liberal platform and plenty of beneficial news coverage. Of course, the claims of the unnamed Liberal sources are the only evidence we have to suggest the PCs have gone all Watergate on their rivals. But, heck, this is fun.
