Viral pizza-slinging wrestling sensation Luigi Primo is coming to Toronto for one night of fighting in Greektown.

In case that doesn’t ring a bell, Primo is the wrestler who went viral on Twitter in 2022 for spinning around a disk of pizza dough throughout a match, a gimmick that didn’t prevent him from landing some serious blows on his opponent. When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s Luigi.

On April 10, Primo will crack open his cans of tomato sauce and whoop-ass to a match held by Greektown Pro Wrestling, which will take place in the basement of the United Church at 310 Danforth Avenue. Lord, have mercy.

Since then, the Austin, Texas-based wrestler has doubled down on his viral persona, with nearly every post on his Instagram involving some combination of pizza-twirling and opponent-walloping.

The man behind the mustache, Chris Monica, had been working as a pizza chef and delivery person for nearly ten years before his big break, honing skills that have served him well ever since, according to Sports Illustrated.

Perhaps Primo can even whip up a couple of pies for the masses while he’s here: after all, there’s a Pizza Nova just down the street.
