Powerful Torontonians descended on the Ritz-Carlton last night to see Toronto Life unveil its 2013 ranking of the city’s 50 Most Influential People. Peppered throughout the cocktail-hour crowd were a number of heavyweights whose influence in shaping Toronto over the past year earned them a spot on the list. Among them: gossip queen Lainey Lui (who christened the party with a scream when she opened the magazine and realized she was on the list); star federal Liberal candidate Chrystia Freeland; city planner Jennifer Keesmaat; Porter Airlines CEO Robert Deluce; Ryerson University president Sheldon Levy; nightlife mogul Charles Khabouth; TTC boss Andy Byford; TIFF’s Cameron Bailey and newly-minted MPP Doug Holyday. The list of all 50 power players appears in the December issue of Toronto Life, which will be available on newsstands November 14.
