Doug Ford sets off a chain reaction of debate-related childishness

After Sunday’s controversy, Doug Ford vowed not to participate in any future debates with lesser-known mayoral candidate Ari Goldkind. On Thursday, the Star reported that Ford made good on that promise by getting Goldkind disinvited from tonight’s scheduled Inner City Union debate. Things got a little ridiculous, though, when John Tory answered by cancelling his own participation in the debate, in protest—at which point Doug also withdrew from the event, because he’s primarily interested in debating Tory. Around then, the debate organizers reinvited Goldkind, forcing Tory to rescind his cancellation. It’s not clear whether Ford will show, after all.
