Davis Guggenheim changes his mind about directing Justin Bieber biopic

The 3-D movie jackpot marriage of a ubiquitous teen heartthrob and an Oscar-winning director was never meant to be. Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) has pulled out of directing a 3-D biopic about Justin Bieber, reportedly to focus on his next film, a documentary called Waiting for Superman. We can’t say we’re too surprised. Could a director whose previous subject matter includes climate change and the failings of the American school system really do the Biebs justice? We’re looking out for both of them here.
