City workers dispute Rob Ford’s weird response to this week’s bomb threat
Rob Ford’s bizarre response to a city hall bomb threat earlier this week seemed like a relatively harmless (by Ford standards) gaffe—but not so, according to the union that represents Toronto’s indoor
workers. Tim Maguire, president of CUPE Local 79, announced in a press release this morning that his organization will be filing a grievance and asking the Ministry of Labour to investigate the mayor’s actions, which the union believes were a violation of city hall’s bomb-threat safety procedure. “From the moment media were first alerted to the existence of a purported bomb threat, there flowed a complete breakdown of policies and procedures to deal with such threats,” Maguire is quoted as saying in the release. “It is not acceptable for policies governing employee health and safety to be infected by the same flagrant and casual disregard for the rules that seem to be a way of life in some quarters of city hall these days.”

What else can we expect from Our Boy Robbie? Reason? Rationality? In our dreams!
If I were Mayor, I would have called upon security and/or police right away. I would have let them handle it, maybe show them the note, but stay in the background to let them do their job. Never would I make a news conference out of it.
2009, Toronto city unions harassed and abused citizens…IS this policy.? Is this acceptable to law abiding citizens? No charges were pressed..We as citizens expect full charges against the government union workers(s) who issued the bomb threat…
Once again Rob Ford acts on his own, placing everyone inside city hall in harms way…..
Ford showed up after 3 p.m alone brother Doug was no were to be seen and stood in front of the media reading an e-mail that was then over 24 hours old…….
This was all wrong from the start and shows the public that Rob Ford is not reliable to lead
the city in any kind of emergency we all have to much to loose to allow Ford to hold our fate let alone our future…………………………..
