For those who missed out on bagging 50-cent signage during Honest Ed’s sale on Monday (or those who waited in vain in the enormous line), you can still purchase a little piece of the discount retailer on eBay. But not on the cheap: the gaudy hand-painted ads are currently going for hundreds of dollars. The most absurdly priced is a selection of three signs, including Christmas tree and fleecewear promotions, that are listed for over $600. Granted, the seller waited in line “for hours” and they’re each signed by David Mirvish. But considering their original retail price—which was under $5 each—the markup seems a bit high. Apparently so is demand: that one post has already generated five offers.
