The best looks from last night’s state dinner at the White House
Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau got the royal treatment at a glitzy state dinner at the White House, an event that was stacked with Canadian celebs. The outfits were particularly colourful, and showcased more than a few local designers. Here, some our favourite formal looks.
The First Lady wore a custom strapless gown by Canadian designer Jason Wu. (Obama wore a perfectly smug facial expression.)
Earlier in the day, she sported another Lucian Matis number, in similarly electric hues, along with Dean Davidson jewellery and an Aldo Shoes clutch.
Sandra Oh’s ensemble was designed by American couturier Kevan Hall. (The couple’s contrasting glasses might be the best part of the look).
Sure, Reynolds’s tux is great, but Lively’s shimmery Ralph and Russo gown is much more attention-grabbing.
Canadian singer Tamia Hill sported an ensemble that was very similar to Lively’s.
Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan looked perfectly put-together (and very giggly).
Twitter may have freaked out over Mike Myers’ hair, but we think it looks dashing.
