As far as we know, non-millionaires are still permitted to wander the hallways at Yorkdale, provided they can stand the glare from all the shiny, expensive stuff. For over a year, the suburban mall has been ratcheting up the opulence factor as part of a $331 million expansion project that has already brought in dozens of fancy new occupants, including U.S. imports Kate Spade, John Varvatos and jeweller David Yurman. Last week, the mall announced a new batch of incoming boutiques. The list includes ultra-luxurious labels Jimmy Choo, Versace and Bulgari, plus French-Italian sportswear specialist Moncler and the first Canadian location of Vince Camuto, a high-end shoe shop from the footwear designer who co-founded Nine West. (You can see the full list of incoming stores here.) There’s also going to be a new outpost for Forever 21, where it’s not impossible to find an entire outfit for under $25. It’s important not to alienate the plebes.
