It was a full house on the first night of fashion week, from Holt Renfrew’s pre-show cocktail to the lineups for passes, lineups for seats and lineups to get bags of cereal. We know it is fashion and meant to be fun, so we checked out the scene a bit to see who was out and about and what everyone was getting up to. We spotted society gals Suzanne Rogers and Jenna Bitove, eTalk personality Sasha Tong, Sarah Gadon, blogger Anita Clarke, Fashion Television host Jeanne Beker, In Fashion’s Glen Baxter and so many more. Check out the scene in a gallery after the jump.

I guess we should be glad TorontoLife went out and brought in this bitch especially to comment on the Fashion Week photos. Bitchiness and fashion is such a cliche. You’re not Anna Wintour, stop trying so hard.
Wow – you take low blows at people in a high society fashion article – get some class you AnnA Wintour wannabe!
How did you even get a job at Toronto Life???
Look up writer Kevin Naulls on Facebook and you will see very clearly that you should not be offended by anything this hobbit writes about.
He actually looks like a homeless person and this is probably his 15 minutes of fame.
Good Riddens!!
Hobbit…i am laughing my head off! So true!! He and his crew of Sarah and Fraser are such amateur writers, who can only write means things about other people, because they have zero credibility on anything they write about.
They scribe mean things, swear in their twitters, use horrible language, to try and spice up their pathetic critical views on fashion or on whatever they think they are experts on that no one cares about..; yet not one of them have ever been out of Toronto at a real fashion show! That’s the biggest joke of all!! None of them would ever get past the door; they all look like they slept in a sewer, such total losers who think they are pretty special…stay clear of this mean trio…some people must have really messed them up in high school…
No one should ever swear on their Twitters. It’s where I wash my children!
Riddens!
Why is everyone taking this so seriously? It’s fashion. It’s entertainment. And THIS is hilarious.
Relax. Take a breath.
There are a few things wrong with these comments:
1. The captions in this post can hardly be considered low blows. Have you ever heard the saying “the truth hurts”? Well, it does. And if you can’t relate, your friends have been lying to you for a very long time. Arguing that Stacey Mackenzie was NOT acting like a total ham means two things. The first being that you are likely an acquaintance of Stacey’s, and simply take offense when fun is being poked at her. The key word here being FUN. She’s a big girl, she can take it. The second, and most important, is that if you truly are friends with Stacey Mackenzie, or have ever observed her in a social setting, you would know that she IS a constant ham. And fyi, “ham” is not necessarily a bad thing. Not unless you’re a vegetarian.
2. Kevin Naulls, although I don’t know him personally, is by no means a Hobbit. Hobbits are members of a fictional diminutive race who inhabit the lands of Middle Earth. Kevin is a writer for Toronto Life. There is a difference, you know. J. R. R. Tolkien would be outraged.
3. To the SNP haters, I’d ask that you do your research before you lay the smack down. “Not one of them have ever been out of Toronto at a real fashion show,” you say? I call bullshit. If you have read enough of her work to have formed such a cutting opinion, then you would know she has covered many Fashion Weeks around the world. London, Paris, NYC, and I assure you, she has no problem “getting passed the door.” How do I know this? Because I actually READ what she writes. The same way you can’t judge a book by its cover, you can’t judge a writer by her off-the-cuff captions.
4. The truth is that “socialites” become socialites for a reason. They like the attention, and hold fast to the idea that all press is good press. If they didn’t want to be talked about, they wouldn’t have gotten Keratin blow-outs and worn beyond expensive [albeit dated] clothing to an event where there would be cameras. Lots of them. If they can’t take the heat, get out the damn kitchen.
5. Finally, swearing on Twitter is perfectly acceptable. Feel free to follow me at @fuckyourmotheryoufuckingasshole!
Sarah Nicole Pricket didn’t even write these? Did she? I thought it was Kevin Naulls. In any case they are really not that bad. It’s true about socialites they get what they deserve./ The guy who said ‘Wow – you take low blows at people in a high society fashion article – get some class you AnnA Wintour wannabe!’ is a total moron. What does that even mean? If this is what TL wants to put ont their site thats there choice. If you dont like it, than dont read it.
Hey Kevin, Sarah and Fraser – pathetic attempts at covering your own butts here by responding to these comments using the alias of Gomae and Corky – very creative nickenames, even for amature writers such as yourselves.
The truth is that all three of these people were teased very badly in high school (I know this for a fact) which has resulted in their poor dispositions and should not be invited to any of these events again… and trust me that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
You three are truly disgusting people.
I feel like Gomae and Corky can’t be fraser, kevin or snp because the comments are practically sarcasm-free.
I know for certain that I am not Kevin, Fraser, or Sarah, and I would have to agree 100% with Corky. You know, it IS possible to support these writers without being one of them, or knowing any of them in real life.
Regardless of whether or not these kids had it tough in High School, they’re the ones with the jobs (hey, these publications could fire them if they wanted to) and you, my disgruntled friends, do not.
And speaking of High School experiences, this is a lesson that many of us learned in our formative years: IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, DON’T READ IT. That simple.
If you want to write fluffy, ass-kissing posts about fashion week, get a blog. There are umpteen sides to every story, so feel free to tell yours.
Did that Stacey girl look, like, so fab? Was Jenna Bitove’s dress, like, sooo covetable? Do you respect Jay Manuel for his game-changing body of work? If you have answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then get a web space and explain your reasoning. Or heck, even disprove the writer in the comments section using, you know, facts, ideas, and… FULL SENTENCES. (Woaaah! *lightbulb*)
From where I’m sitting, I think the writer hit the nail right on the head. This discussion forum was not designed to host a hater’s parade for all of you. So, “Get-a-Life”, best you take your own advice and quit bitching. You sound ridiculous.
who are fraser, sarah and kevin?
There is an immense difference between relating information about people from your experiences with them, and making these snide remarks to seem witty and larger-than-yourself. It’s just getting tiresome and exhausting to continuously read these hate-on-hate-on-hate captions. You are writing about the industry you have chosen to work in, and sure, Torontonians are still a little small town about their fashion choices, but don’t you think that supporting your community, instead of consistently tearing them apart would be more advantageous? I guess you didn’t get a lot of that positive reinforcement as a child. It’s been proven to work quite well, you should try it next time you want to poke fun.
hate hate hate hate
Oh, this is entertaining.
I love reading rants from people who can’t spell, have terrible grammar and are clearly angry at the world. Do you know how stupid you look? Sarcasm is lost on the daft. To the writers at Toronto Life – ignore these hateful comments, they’re not worth your time. I think you’re fab!
im curious, how does your thought process work?
“i write fashion in toronto > the scene is pretty lame > im more knowledgable, more cultivated, and honest enough to say it. heck im pretty witty too > i write sassy articles and people say im hating. thats because they cant accept the truth. im the truth > i love my job, cant wait for next fashion week” …?
