Target announces planned site locations for its 2013 Canadian arrival

It turns out there’s a lot of info about the Target on our backs—slotted for 2013—that wasn’t available until recently. First, the Hudson’s Bay Company is subletting their Zellers stores for slow, long-term renovations, meaning one day, some (but not all) Zellers locations will vanish, and in their place will be Target stores at the following spots: Woodbine Centre, Cloverdale Mall, Shoppers World Danforth, Centerpoint Mall, Bridlewood Mall and East York Town Centre (in addition to several unconfirmed shops throughout the GTA).

In January, Target paid $1.8 billion for the lease rights to 220 Zellers locations, and it intends to commit $10 million toward renovations for each site. That’s a lot of money to become Canada’s go-to place for cheap, well, everything. But with outed racist John Galliano taking over as designer for top-selling Wal-Mart brand George, and Target teaming up with big brands like Rodarte and Missoni, we figure we can almost guarantee where the fashion loyalties will lie.
