Name: Vince Camuto Sells: Women’s footwear and accessories Contact info: Yorkdale Mall, 3401 Dufferin St., 905-270-0003, vincecamuto.com Hours: M-Sa 10-9, Su 10-7

Vince Camuto, popular footwear label and celebrity outfitter, recently opened its first Canadian flagship in Yorkdale (two more locations will soon be opening in Sherway Gardens and Scarborough). The half-billion-dollar brand, created by the founder of Nine West, is known for selling shoes, bags and statement accessories that bridge the gap between high-street stores like Aldo and more expensive designer labels.

The store’s stark white furnishings seem designed to accentuate the fashionable inventory. In addition to handbags and jewellery, there are three footwear lines: the affordable Crest line, the pricier VC Signature collection and a third line called Louise et Cie, which was named after Camuto’s wife and consists of simple, delicate pumps and sandals. With the exception of a studded statement heel for $695, shoe prices range from $150 to $350, while handbags are priced between $120 (for a simple clutch) and $350 (for a large leather tote). The only pieces of menswear available are a pair of sturdy watches, which might not be enough to keep tag-along boyfriends entertained around the army of peep-toe stilettos and leopard-print pumps.
