Paris Fashion Week welcomes Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Princess Charlene of Monaco and a DSquared shop on Rue Saint-Honoré

It is Paris Fashion Week, and celebrities from near and far have made appearances: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen popped by Kanye West’s debut runway show (it was terrible) and Princess Charlene of Monaco braved the crush of paparazzi to catch Akris. While the inevitable street style pileups and society-darling one-upmanships persisted (as is the case at all fashion weeks), Canadian designers Dean and Dan Caten from DSquared opened up their first Paris store on Rue Saint-Honoré, which is also home to Colette and Hermès. The Paris shop is their third opening (they have stores in Milan and Saint-Tropez), but they are planning to expand: “We are trying to individualize each store to the city they are in,” said the boys to Toronto Star fashion editor Derick Chetty. Singer Bryan Adams was another Canadian in attendance who came to support the duo because they are “very good to [him],” and we assume this means they provide him with free clothes and not a couch to sleep on. Melanie C was unable to attend.
