British brand Mulberry is reportedly opening its first Canadian store in Yorkdale Mall

Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s transformation from suburban mall to high-end galleria continues with rumblings that luxury label Mulberry is opening its first Canadian store there. The quintessentially British brand has applied for a building permit to renovate a 2,500-square-foot store across from Holt Renfrew’s new digs, and, judging by Mulberry’s American locations, we’d expect it to carry the label’s iconic leather handbags, plus shoes, luggage and womenswear. The store would be a coup for Yorkale—Kate Spade and Tory Burch are plenty nice, but a Mulberry boutique selling $1,800 handbags and $850 shoes would take the upscale makeover to a new level. [Retail Insider]
