Is it the rainbow of colours that makes Crocs so enticing? Don't ask us (Photo by Rupert Ganzer)

• The Serena is the new Rachel. Stylists across New York are being inundated with requests for Blake Lively’s tousled tresses. One salon owner in Manhattan calls it “aspirational hair” and offers extensions to get the look for $1,200 to $1,500. Don’t blow the mortgage payment yet: another stylist says that the look flatters only tall, slim women. [New York Times]

Burberry fêted its flagship Toronto store on Bloor Street last week with a gala that drew celebs Ali Larter (of Heroes and Varsity Blues fame), as well as the inseparable After Show duo Dan Levy and Jessi Cruickshank. Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Camilla were partying with Dalton McGuinty at the Carlu, mere blocks away. Too bad the royal couple didn’t pop into the storied British store to lend star power to the guest list. [WWD]

• Speaking of Cruickshank, the fiery host is auctioning off pieces in her dress collection to raise money for Free the Children. The dresses, like this Matthew Williamson for H&M, also include a purple Grecian Greta Constantine number, a Mikhael Kale cocktail frock and a vintage Dolce and Gabbana floral-print sheath. The gowns are gorgeous and, with a handful donated by Hills cast members, are a good way to get into the ultra-short hemline trend. [MTV]

• In his new book, Follow the Model, America’s Next Top Model runway coach and diva extraordinaire J. Alexander reveals that he’s a father. Well, sort of. Miss J. and his boyfriend donated sperm to a friend, and while the ex is the biological father, J. remains close with the boy. He says the tyke “refuses to drink out of plastic and will only use glass.” With that much fabulousness from a father figure, the youngster is sure to set trends like his miniature fashionista compatriots Suri Cruise, Maddox Jolie-Pitt and Romeo Beckham. • More bad news for Lindsay Lohan’s spring 2010 Ungaro collection. Not only does the house’s founder, Emanuel Ungaro, hate it, dubbing the collection a disaster, but buyers just aren’t biting. Neiman Marcus and the Web-based boutique net-a-porter.com, two retailers that traditionally carry the brand, have not placed orders for the spring line. Looks like LiLo shouldn’t have quit her day job. Wait, does making I Know Who Killed Me count as a day job? [Style.com]

• In an interview with Canada’s Next Top Model winner Meaghan Waller, we learned that the ex–architecture student must be accustomed to giving interviews, because every response is perfect (and, of course, boring). Among the revelations: she loved her CNTM roomies and they still keep in touch, she’s just naturally skinny, modelling is lots of fun, sharing a bathroom is the worst, and she’d like to get back into architecture someday. • The Jimmy Choo H&M line goes on sale this Saturday in Toronto (and globally), and crazed fans plan to start lining up at 5 a.m. The coveted pieces will be on sale only at the Bloor Street and Eaton Centre locations. Guess we’re staying in tonight to rest up for the pandemonium tomorrow. Backsies, anyone? [Metro]

Crocs saw increased revenue this quarter (yes, we’re just as surprised), though only by 1.7 per cent over last year. Of course, that still means that more people are buying the offensively ugly footwear this year. Maybe they really are as comfortable as our creepy aunt tells us. [Reuters]
