Someone from Elle Magazine (Joe Zee, creative director) is coming to Toronto, but he’s from Toronto originally

It isn’t every day that the international fashion media grace us with their presence (last season’s Joe Fresh and Pink Tartan shows excluded), but on Tuesday, Aug. 16, creative director for Elle magazine and Toronto native Joe Zee will be conducting a meet and greet with local media to promote season one of his series All on the Line. The self-proclaimed “fashion powerhouse” claims to be helping struggling designers, saving their lines from ruin (so, kind of like what Anna Wintour did for Thakoon’s career in The September Issue, but hokier). It isn’t exactly Project Runway, since the emphasis is entirely on the rebirth of failing designers, which is why it is the perfect opportunity for former PR contestant Kara Janx, who participated in season one of Zee’s series after losing as a finalist on season two of Heidi Klum’s reality TV baby. Perhaps Janx was hoping it’d be her Road Rules versus Real World bump toward an MTV Spring Break hosting gig a CFDA award (spoiler: it wasn’t).

Joe Zee’s All on the Line premiers Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. on Sundance Channel Canada.
