Jeremy Laing named among finalists for prestigious ANDAM fashion award

Forty-five applications were received for this year’s ANDAM (Association nationale pour le developpement des arts de la mode) Fashion Award, but only six were shortlisted, and this year’s list includes Toronto’s Jeremy Laing among other big names: Adam Kimmel, Anthony Vaccarello, Commuun, Matthew Harding and Yiqing Yin. If Laing wins the big prize, he’ll get 200,000 euros, 10,000 euros’ worth of Swarovski crystals for his next collection, and mentorship from Ralph Toledano (formerly the CEO of Chloe) for two consecutive seasons—not to mention that he’ll be joining former recipients Giles Deacon, Gareth Pugh and Hakaan in what is swiftly becoming a hall of fame of emerging (and successful) designers. We hope Laing wins, not only because he’s from Toronto and a great designer, but because we want to see him “make it rain” with his 10,000 euros’ worth of bling.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony at the Ministry of Culture in France on June 29 at 7 p.m. (CEST).
