David Thomson goes big and stays home with his recent expansion idea

Rosedale, that leafy enclave that houses the ladies who lunch and power broker set, is abuzz with rumours about David Thomson building an even bigger mansion on Roxborough Drive. The business titan is the richest man in Canada and the 16th richest in the world, so it only seems fitting that he would have his very own Toronto-based Xanadu. The Toronto Star reports that Thomson has gotten approval to build a two-storey addition connecting two adjacent properties: his existing home at 200 Roxborough Drive and another three-storey building at 196 Roxborough Drive. It’s anyone’s guess as to what Thomson will do with all that extra space, but given that he used to be married engaged to The O.C.’s Kelly Rowan, we can only presume he’ll take in a tough but lovable street kid to woo the beautiful but troubled neighbour girl.
