Could Anthropologie be coming to Queen Street West?

Last year, we heard that Daniel Rumack, the new owner of the former church on Queen West at Tecumseth, was looking for a single big retailer to take over the space (Rumack was also largely responsible for bringing CB2 to the area). Now, some new renderings from Quadrangle Architects—depicting a fictional retailer named “Archeologie”—are driving speculation that Anthropologie is possibly interested in opening a third Toronto location there. The broker in charge of finding a tenant would only say that there has been “some interest from a U.S. retailer.” Sure, the name is likely just a placeholder for the drawings, but we’ll still be watching closely for any more clues.
