CB2 announced its official opening would take place this fall, but we found out this week that those in search of modular furniture, nesting chairs and other bric-a-brac may have to return to their regular haunts. CB2 has pushed its opening to “2012,” stating “ [It’s] thrilled to preserve the heritage of the Big Bop,” but in the process of doing so, the “older building [brought] unique and sometimes unexpected challenges.” It may be taking longer than design geeks would like, but we do think it’s admirable that CB2 is committed to restoring a historical location, rather than tearing it down. We can wait, but what we’re really wondering is if it might be pushed to 2013—we figure it will take a long time to clean up decades old stains and remove the ghosts of former high school bands.
