Banana Republic’s staple pieces will be getting a serious overhaul this spring, when the store releases a limited edition collection with renowned Finnish textile design company Marimekko. Even those unfamiliar with the brand will recognize its signature bold patterns—the iconic designs are all over its home accessories collaboration with furniture company EQ3.

While Marimekko prides itself on quirky prints and daring splashes of colour, Banana Republic is usually known for its subtle, classic items like the white shirt and the khaki trouser. This new 25-piece collection, with prices ranging from $50 to $175, will feature typical Banana Republic attire—structured cotton tunics, maxi dresses, full skirts—but plastered with designs by Marimekko designers Maija Isola, Maija Louekari and Aino-Maija Metsola. Their distinctive prints include landscapes, folk-inspired art and circular dots. Shoppers keen to get their hands on the collection can expect the line to hit stores in May.
