Saks Off Fifth is now open
The new Saks on Queen Street is pretty nice, but way out of the price range for most Toronto shoppers. Provided you don’t mind the trek to Vaughan Mills, the brand’s cheaper counterpart, Saks Off Fifth, is now open. The store stocks over 800 designer brands, all at pretty big discounts—including Diane von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dresses. Toronto gets a new online womenswear shop
Reformation fans will love Toronto’s newest online retailer, a girls-only site called Curriculum. Right now, it’s full of the kind of carefree, summery pieces that off-duty models would wear to get fro-yo. The roster of up-and-coming international designers includes Aussie labels like Celeste Tesoriero, Mossman and Winona. And thankfully, prices are more in line with J.Crew than Balmain. Toronto gets a new online menswear shop, too
Brand-new virtual boutique Ace/Five Shop stocks emerging designers most Torontonians aren’t familiar with (like Dutch brand Han Kjobenhavn or Korean-based Plac). The minimalist site features elevated basics with avant-garde details, like this extra-long collarless shirt. And guys who want to live in loungewear without looking sloppy can snag restaurant-appropriate sweatsuits (yes, that’s a thing) and plenty of dad-jeans. Acefiveshop.com.
Livestock’s new location
Roncesvalles is now home to a cool new sneaker shop. Livestock’s second Toronto shop (its first is on Spadina) is a two-level outlet packed with the latest editions of Nike Air Maxes, Adidas Tubulars and other coveted kicks. The current selection is a particularly colourful assortment of spring-appropriate sneakers, like this sherbet-hued Puma collaboration, that will make you want to permanently retire your winter boots.
