Pop-Up Pick: a cute Canadian e-boutique makes its public debut

Toronto’s retail pop-up scene is gaining momentum, with new shopping opportunities emerging (and then disappearing) all the time. We’re keeping a lookout for the temporary shops you don’t want to miss.

Langsura (the name is a blend of Cantonese and Croatian that means “pretty girl”) is a new online women’s boutique scheduled to launch this summer. It’s the brainchild of Joyce Chan, an avid online shopper who was tired of mooning over cute U.S. designs that didn’t ship to Canada. Since dreaming up her concept two years ago, Chan has been hocking her inventory of pretty, versatile, slightly bohemian pieces at private shopping parties around the city. Tomorrow, May 22, she’s making her public debut in a gallery space near Adelaide and Brant streets. Shoppers can except to find a summery mix of feminine dresses, floral rompers and trendy harem pants from brands like L.A.‘s Ark & Co. and London’s TFNC, plus cool patterned clutches, gem-studded necklaces and other statement-making accessories. With almost everything priced under $100, this is a good chance to pick up a few new things for summer—just in case it ever arrives.

May 22-24. Norman Felix Gallery, 445 Adelaide St. W., facebook.com
