Inside Holt Renfrew’s gigantic, swanky new Square One location

Holt Renfrew’s brand-new Square One location, which opened its doors last week after a year and a half of construction, is the latest ultra-slick department store to hit the GTA. The 130,000-square-foot, marble-floored space was designed by New York–based interiors firm Janson Goldstein LLP, and it oozes luxury: custom art installations give off a gallery vibe, while the lavish personal shopping suites and lounge areas are worthy of a palace. Mississauga’s elite can take advantage of a concierge, valet, master tailor and an on-site leather artisan who can add bespoke embossing to Balenciaga handbags.

Show-stopping jewellery is housed beneath a sparkling custom chandelier made by Manhattan-based Axon-Design:

The shop contains more than 200 designer brands, including womenswear from brands like Philip Lim, Acne and Marni:

The men’s section was modelled after Holt Renfrew Men on Bloor Street, and features the same grey-and-silver colour scheme, plus a separate entrance. All carpets in the store were designed by local rug shop Creative Matters:
