The Find: a versatile waxed cotton jacket from The Gap–GQ collaboration
The last time The Gap was cool—legitimately, tastemakingly cool—Shaggy was selling millions of records. In the decade following, the ubiquitous store became a great place for picking up highly discounted T-shirts and underwear every few months—and little else. However, The Gap has staged a comeback of late, convincing even GQ (still the major arbiter of men’s style, and a favourite of many TL editors) that it is once again hip. Moreover, GQ produced a collaborative collection with the brand and the magazine’s Best New Menswear Designers in America and the results are killer. While we covet most of the pieces—a Todd Snyder sweatshirt and a motorcycle jacket by Ovadia & Sons, to name a couple—the thing we most want right now is this Waxed Field Jacket by Saturdays NYC. We like the dark green colour, the slim cut, and the fact that it’s less than $130. It’s the perfect jacket for this confusing, transitional weather. And it makes us ready to give a little bit of love back to The Gap, which, if only for the nostalgia value, is kind of exciting. $128. Click to buy »

who writes this nonsense
Oh, and I guess you are unaware of the outrage and protests in the US and the massive boycott of The GAP over a shirt they produced with GQ that has not been yanked from all the stores. Don’t think this collection is really anything to write home about. I tend to agree – nonsense writing is becoming the norm.
I love the GAP maybe not this jacket but all their clothes are great and made well
