And the master bedroom. Its marble fireplace is designed to burn in total silence, so as not to distrub the owner’s rest:

The history

An Alberta businessman and his wife purchased this unit in 2011, envisioning a grand overhaul. More than $500,000 later, interior design agency Union31 had transformed the penthouse to the couple’s taste. The sellers have since had a daughter and want more space. They listed the penthouse in July and started looking for houses in Rosedale.

The Hunt

Big selling point

Like throwing dinner parties? There’s enough room here to host 30 guests for a sit-down meal. (The owners have packed in 50 for mix-and-mingle parties.)

Possible deal-breaker

The building’s amenities aren’t that special. The tiny fitness room likely isn’t up to snuff for serious gym buffs, and the communal terrace is redundant, thanks to the 800 square feet off the penthouse’s living room:

By the numbers

• 3,225 square feet • $2,470.64 in monthly maintenance fees • 4 bathrooms • 3 bedrooms • 2 parking spaces • 2 ovens • 2 fridges
