The history

Milford Manor resort was a popular summer destination from the 1940s through the 1970s. When it closed in the late 1980s, many of the original structures were torn down and the property was subdivided. The current owners bought this land close to 20 years ago, and completed their cottage in 2003. They preserved some remnants of the resort: the shuffleboard courts are still there, and the original honeymoon suite is now one of their bunkies:

Big selling point

No family is too big for this place. Aside from those three spare bedrooms in the main cottage, there’s also an unfinished upper level in the boathouse that could be made into yet another bedroom:

Possible deal breaker

If you like country-cozy décor, great. If you find it cloying: brace yourself, because there’s a lot of floral wallpaper to remove.

By the numbers

• $4,795,000 • 4,000 square feet • 10 acres • 5 bathrooms • 4 bedrooms • 3 boat slips • 2 bunkies
