Ever wish you could float away in a refreshing pool after an intense HIIT session? Or wind down with a soothing restorative yoga class after hitting it hard on the pickleball court? At Unity Fitness, you can do all of this—and more—alongside a community of others on the same wellness journey as you, and all under one aesthetically pleasing roof.
Located near Toronto’s waterfront at 120 Downes St., Unity is a state-of-the-art wellness club that combines premium equipment, boutique-style classes, curated services and next-level amenities within 45,000 square feet. The centre’s raison d’être? To inspire and empower its members to achieve their fitness goals while fostering a space for community. Needless to say, everyone is welcome here, no matter your fitness level.
Here, we take a look at all the services on offer at Unity, and the two great membership plans to choose from.
Upon entering Unity’s doors, folks can bask in the sun-soaked members’ lounge. A sleek communal table is an inviting place to catch up on some work. Need a breather after a high-intensity class? The lounge’s pillowy couch was made for sinking sore muscles into. The space is also dotted with comfy seating and a cozy fireplace, making it the ideal spot for members to connect with one another.
The best way to describe Unity’s open fitness area? A gym lover’s oasis. Wrapped with floor-to-ceiling windows, the cardio section features coveted equipment such as Woodway treadmills, Concept2 rowers and SkiErgs, and SciFit total-body exercisers.
The strength-training area is fully stocked with everything fitness buffs dream of: selectorized machines, premium Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, dumbbells, barbells, bumper plates and more. And then there’s the HIIT section: a dedicated space for members to practice TRX or dynamic training on the high-performance turf with sleds and heavy bags.
There is also a Hyperice recovery station in the open fitness area, equipped with recovery tools for all members.
A single membership gives you access to any of Unity’s high-quality boutique fitness classes, led by the city’s top instructors. The Group Ex studio offers a wide range of classes, from boxing-inspired sessions such as Power Punch to core and glute workouts like Bums + Tums—and everything in between.
Over in the Hot Yoga studio—decked out with Far Infrared Yoga Panels and premium accessories—members can choose from classes that range from foundational (Yoga Foundations) to feel-it-the-next-day challenging (Inferno Pilates or Sweat + Sculpt).
Lastly, a boutique fitness experience isn’t complete without a high-octane spin class. Unity’s Cycle studio is stocked with a collection of award-winning ICG bikes, multiple display screens and a rave-worthy overhead lighting installation.
One of Unity’s most anticipated specialty amenities is its open gym, which houses a full-sized basketball court that doubles as two full-sized pickleball courts. The space is equipped with six nets and a digital scoreboard.
This highly sought-after space is a must after any intense workout. Members can plunge into one of its two 79.5-foot lanes and chill out in peace. It’s open for lane swims or private lessons and is fitted with an accessibility lift, too.
Unity Fitness currently offers two different memberships. The Unity Unlimited Membership ($125/month plus a $200 enrolment fee) gives you full access to all areas of the club, including unlimited boutique-style classes. Not yet ready to commit? Flex Passes are the way to go, granting you full facility access available in single- ($35), five- ($150) and 10-class ($250) visits.
