Rogers brings TIFF’s 50th edition to life in Yorkville with an immersive festival experience

This September, as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) marks its golden milestone, Rogers is celebrating in cinematic style with the Rogers TIFF 50 Timescape, an immersive interactive retrospective in the heart of Yorkville.

Running September 5 to 7, the free and open-to-the-public experience transforms one of Toronto’s most iconic neighbourhoods into a living love letter to 50 years of film, stars and cultural moments that helped define TIFF as one of the most celebrated festivals in the world.

Taking over Yorkville Avenue between Hazelton Avenue and Bellair Street, Rogers TIFF 50 Timescape invites festivalgoers to walk through five decades of TIFF history.

Through interactive multimedia installations and archival content, the experience highlights landmark films, unforgettable red-carpet moments and behind-the-scenes memories that have shaped TIFF into a global institution.

Each day, guests can enjoy live performances by the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra, with members from the E Street band, performing iconic scores from TIFF-screened films and offering a stirring soundtrack to a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

In addition, the stage will be programmed with live feeds from Roy Thomson Hall red-carpet and Q&A’s with directors from this year’s Short Cuts programme.

As the presenting partner of TIFF’s 50th edition, Rogers is making sure this year’s celebration is more exciting than ever. Whether you’re a film aficionado or a first-time TIFF-goer, Rogers TIFF 50 Timescape promises a memorable journey through the festival’s evolution, right where it all began in Yorkville.

Rogers customers can unlock exclusive festival perks through Rogers Beyond the Seat, a national program that delivers premier sports and entertainment experiences to customers. That means more front-row views of red-carpet arrivals at Roy Thomson Hall, one of the most star-studded stretches in the city.

Plus, Citytv is rolling out the red carpet with TIFF50 LIVE presented by Rogers—an exclusive special airing Friday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on Citytv and Citytv+.

Hosted by Arisa Cox, the one-hour show features live interviews with festival VIPs and revisits TIFF’s most unforgettable moments, including a special conversation with TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey.
