What TL Insiders can look forward to in November and December
Including a Diwali tasting menu at Curryish Tavern and a live art party at Cry Baby Gallery

After an unseasonably warm October that allowed many of us to leave our jackets at home, there’s a fresh chill in the air—but that doesn’t mean you should stay home and hibernate. Between innovative dining opportunities, live music and art events, there are plenty of things to do in the city this month—including a number of exclusive events for our Insiders. Here’s a look ahead at what TL Insiders can enjoy this November, including a chance to win a culinary adventure for two in Saint Martin.
Taste of Saint Martin at Lucie
Join other Insiders for an evening of incredible food at Lucie on Yonge Street. This elegant restaurant will be serving a sit-down dinner inspired by the spectacular island of St. Martin. The menu will be curated by chef de cuisine Arnaud Bloquel in collaboration with chef Dylan (think: French and Creole flavours), and guests will have the opportunity to win a trip for two to the fourth annual “Festival de la Gastronomie” in Saint Martin. November temperatures be damned—guests are encouraged to dress in island-chic attire. This event will be taking place on Wednesday, November 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Dinner at Kissa
This immersive, evocative dining and listening event is set to be one of a kind. Sit back, relax and listen to classic vinyl records in an atmosphere inspired by New York, London and Paris. Guests will enjoy a Japanese-inspired dinner menu developed by culinary expert Michael Parubocki and chef Dylan Sampson of Kissa. The cocktail list will feature drinks inspired by classic albums—how’s that for a perfect pairing? Wednesday, November 8, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Contest: Diwali tasting menu at Curryish Tavern
Insiders can enter to win two tickets to a delectable Diwali tasting menu at Curryish Tavern on Queen West. This special menu will be available by reservation between November 7 and 12 in celebration of the festival of lights. Guests will enjoy a variety of small bites including celery root pakoras and black truffle and paneer kulcha with a mushroom masala. The contest will be announced on November 2 at 2 p.m.
Cocktail demo and live art party at Cry Baby Gallery
Witness the creation of an original, one-of-a-kind piece by a famous local artist during this experiential event at Cry Baby Gallery, in Little Portugal. Insiders will also engage in an expert cocktail demonstration that can be recreated at home—the perfect skills to show off at your next dinner party. Food and beverages will be available throughout the evening. Thursday, November 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Dumpling-making class at Then and Now
Bring a friend and join other Insiders for an interactive cooking class followed by a delicious meal at Then and Now restaurant on Queen West. Guests will learn how to fold dumplings like a pro under the instruction of chef Eric Y. Wang—a former dishwasher who now owns Then and Now. Hear his inspiring story, learn from his culinary tips and tricks, and enjoy an amazing meal. Thursday, November 30, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
TL Insider at Cheese Boutique
To kick off the holiday season, we’re bringing back our TL Insider end-of-year event at Cheese Boutique. Cheese Master Afrim Pristine will once again dazzle you with the world’s best cheeses and cured meats, plus a Mediterranean inspired menu. The event will include five interactive, after-hours food stations, as well as a wine bar and a shopping experience. And for dessert, TL Insiders can visit the CB Bottega for coffee and pastry. Thursday, December 14, 7:15 p.m to 10:00 p.m.
