Winterlicious extended for two weeks

Yes, that’s right. The City of Toronto has decided to extend the festival by 14 days; it was originally scheduled to end tomorrow. In a press release sent out today, the city cites an “overwhelmingly positive response” and the “financial situation facing restaurateurs in the current economy” as reasons for extending the event.

Two things to keep in mind: 1. The extension begins on February 16 and runs until February 28, meaning—surprise, surprise—Valentine’s Day weekend is not included. 2. Not all restaurants on the original Winterlicious list will participate. Visit the City of Toronto’s Winterlicious page tomorrow to find out who’s in.
