Toronto’s Top Delivery: Midtown

FANCY FALAFEL TABÜLÈ Tabülè specializes in bold Middle Eastern flavours—dishes with puckery doses of citrus, punches of garlic and fresh herbs like mint and coriander. What to order: Falafel that’s crisp on the outside and light on the inside and comes with fluffy white rice bedazzled with lentils, caramelized onions and grill-fired peppers ($14). The plump, not-too-sweet square of pistachio-cashew baklava ($5.25) makes a terrific dessert that travels well. Delivery zone: South of Wilson and north of Dupont between Bathurst and Laird. 2009 Yonge St., 416-483-3747

GOURMET SANDWICHES DELICA KITCHEN Since it opened two years ago, Delica has been mid-town’s go-to place for fresh, thoughtfully prepared lunches and sweets. The owner, Devin Connell, trained at the Cordon Bleu, but thankfully she charges cafeteria prices. What to order: For a filling lunch, try the toasted turkey with cheddar cheese ($9) and caramelized onion aïoli on ciabatta, a side of honey-tinged parsnip soup ($3.25) and one of Connell’s sticky scratch-made strawberry jammies ($2.75). Delivery zone: Across the GTA with a minimum order of lunch for six people. Yonge St., 416-546-5408

LIGHTISH INDIAN FOOD AMAYA EXPRESS The city’s most prolific Indian chain (with new outposts on Ossington and King East) makes creamy kormas and spicy vindaloos using quality meats and vegetables and less gut-busting ghee than most other curry houses. What to order: Butter chicken ($12.50) is the top seller, but the coastal shrimp curry ($16) is a more complex dish with its spicy, coconut-y tomato gravy. Delivery zone: Across the GTA. 3305 Yonge St., 416-487-1100
