Tim Hortons announced today that it has opened its first café and bake shop in the Sultanate of Oman. The location is the 20th in the Middle East—there are 19 in the United Arab Emirates, some of which have been swarmed by Canadian expats—and is part of Tim Hortons’ four-year plan to take over the world open 120 locations in the region. Response to the new location has been positive: in a release, the Muscat Grand Mall’s general manager said, “We have already seen crowds gather in groups to the outlet,” though he stopped short of calling Tim Hortons’ coffee the “stuff of Canadian legend.”
