The Food: Gourmet versions of classic pub fare, like a hot charcuterie pork board ($32) and mini-lamb and lavender sausage sliders ($16). Mill St. beer is an ingredient in almost all the items on the menu.

The Drinks: The Beer Hall is the only place in Canada that has bierschnaps, a traditional clear and colourless beer-based spirit that’s distilled onsite and served as a shot. Mill St. beers and house-brewed root beer are on tap.

The Place: Glass-encased stainless steel beer and coppers stills are the centrepieces of the otherwise classic beer hall with communal high-top tables at the front and traditional seating and booths in the main space.

The Numbers • 100-x-20-foot patio • 5 beer lines in each pipe running from the brewery to the bar • 3 types of bierschnapps (made from Tank House, Coffee Porter and Frambozen beers) •  2 outdoor fire places
