Finally, a way to guzzle hard liquor and make a difference: on September 19, Tequila Tromba, Canada’s only homegrown tequila brand, invites Torontonians to participate in an attempt to set the world record for largest tequila tasting (previous record: 341). The party, held at Tromba’s west-end warehouse 99 Sudbury in Parkdale, will include food and cocktails from restaurants Playa Cabana, Rock Lobster and soon-to-open Fonda Lola, plus mariachis and piñatas. A $39 ticket buys three tequila shots, two tacos and—quite possibly—a chance to bask in record-setting glory.
