Snakes and Lattes, the Annex board-game café, is opening a new spin-off that adds the one lubricating ingredient that could turn an ordinary game of Settlers into a truly epic event: booze. The aptly named Snakes and Lagers opens tomorrow, January 7, February 1 in the old Smokeless Joe’s space on College Street between Markham and Palmerston, one block south of the original. Like the family-friendly café, the new outpost will charge $5 cover for all-day play; however, it will cater exclusively to a 19-plus crowd with over a dozen taps pouring beers from local breweries like Black Oaks and Sawdust City. Savvy players can line their stomachs with falafel pitas, spiced popcorn and other bar snacks.
