When Pisco opened at Yonge and Lawrence just over a year ago, its elaborate ceviches and beef-heart steaks seemed better suited to Parkdale than Lawrence Park. Thinking along those lines, perhaps, the owners have decided to move the business downtown. According to some of the restaurant’s recent tweets, the new-and-improved Pisco (which should be opening sometime this summer) will have a Kensington Market address, a “Peruvian tasting menu representing every region of Peru” and “25 different macerations of pisco,” a brandy-style drink popular in Peru. It should be a welcome addition to the Market, which, while great for tacos, doesn’t have much in the way of finer food.
