A Beijing noodle house joins the ramen bars in Baldwin Village

Noodle Face Co. opened quietly last December on the Baldwin strip. Like nearby Kinton and Ryus, it specializes in Asian noodle bowls. Instead of Japanese ramen, though, its focus is “Beijing-style” comfort food. That means pork buns, handmade dumplings and noodle soups topped with crumbled pork and scallions. The standout, according to several reviews, is a less traditional dish: a green-onion pancake rolled into a wrap with beef shank, veggies and sweet hoisin sauce. The decor is DIY (including an elaborate revolution-themed mural), but the value is unbeatable: portions are huge and prices top out at $10.
