Too often, adventures in holiday home cooking involve sharp knives, gravy-splattered floors and the general air of a trauma ward. A gargantuan turkey feast from the Butcher’s Son eliminates such indignities. Raised free-run without antibiotics or growth hormones at a Kettleby farm, the bird is just plain perfect: succulent dark meat, a juicy breast and crispy golden-brown skin, stuffed with cranberry-apple-sage dressing. Alongside are butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, roasted root veg, cranberry sauce and copious amounts of gravy. Serves 10 to 12. $200. 2055 Yonge St., 416-901-9414.
