Me Va Me, Thornhill’s go-to Middle Eastern restaurant, is coming downtown

Me Va Me, the Middle Eastern restaurant with two outposts in Thornhill, has a surprisingly strong fan base for a small suburban franchise—a fan base that is likely to grow when the chain launches a downtown outpost in the New Year. In January 2014, Me Va Me Express will open at 240 Queen Street West, in the space formerly occupied by Asian fusion chain Spring Rolls. The restaurant has a cult following among discerning uptowners, who rave about its huge portions, extra-smooth hummus and wallet-friendly dinner boxes, which come packed with things like grilled lamb skewers, roast potatoes, veggies and pickles. The timing couldn’t be better: after December’s holiday binge-fest, we suspect grilled meats and leafy greens might be just what diners crave.
