Last we heard from Matt DeMille, he was taking a “cooking sabbatical” in the Ontario countryside with his family. DeMille had been working as the chef de cuisine at Enoteca Sociale (after a stint as sous-chef at Parts and Labour), but he left that position in April, a few months after Grant van Gameren was hired to take over as executive chef. Now he’s surfaced as chef of Pomodoro, a newish rustic Italian restaurant in Wellington, Ontario, from the team behind East and Main Bistro. Actually, he’s been there since May—but the restaurant just sent out a very enthusiastic press release with this extremely winning photo. We couldn’t not post it.
