AwesTRUCK is the Oscars for roaming restaurants: an awards ceremony where trucks get well-earned props for braving a bog of bureaucratic snags to serve their food curbside. In this case, the Academy is the online public, who can vote for their favourite trucks on the Food Truck Eats Facebook page starting August 16. The  ceremony, which takes place on September 21 at Fort York, is also a rally, with souped-up snacks, booze and more food trucks gathered in one place than ever before in Canada. Tickets are on sale now: $10 for general admission and $25 for a special pass that gets you in an hour early.

AwesTRUCK 2013, September 21, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m., Fort York, Garrison Common, facebook.com
