CONFIRMED: Music legends Neil Young and U2 will attend TIFF this year

TIFF 2011 has officially one-upped TIFF 2010. Last year, the biggest musician in attendance was The Boss. Admittedly, that was a pretty big deal, but that really won’t top this year’s guest list, which now includes Neil Young and U2. Young will be in town to promote Neil Young Life, a documentary of two recent Massey Hall performances, while U2 is coming to promote From the Sky Down, which chronicles the band’s massive success. These musicians may not be as swishy as the movie stars, so if you’re trying to spot them, look out for their trademark clothing staples: Neil Young’s wide-brimmed hat and Bono’s slightly obnoxious wear-anywhere sunglasses.
