What a difference a day makes. At the party for Still Alice at Michael’s on Simcoe, the celebrity gawkers had all but vanished. There were no fans racing at breakneck speed down the street for an autograph, no one shrieking “Over here! Over here!" Seems like even amateur paparazzi can get a case of the Mondays. Inside, however, it was still TIFF as usual. Kate Bosworth arrived first, in a red sequined gown, and seated herself both out in the open and away from prying eyes, in a booth that faced the back of the restaurant. Soon, costar Julianne Moore arrived (she’s as gorgeous in real life as she is in the movies), fresh off a speaking gig for L’Oreal, in a plunging Tom Ford dress. Moore sat with Bosworth before adjourning to her own booth, which, by the time the night was over, was stuffed with friends and well-wishers. Fellow costar Alec Baldwin sadly didn’t show. We’ve been yearning for a Jack and Nancy reunion ever since 30 Rock went off the air, but this just wasn’t the night.
