TIFF Party: Amy Poehler riffs on the saucy starlet step-and-repeat on an otherwise quiet night at Soho House

TIFF Party: You Are Here

Five PM is a tough slot to fill. The normally buzzy Grey Goose Soho House was fairly quiet yesterday, save for You Are Here stars Amy Poehler, Laura Ramsey and Lauren Lapkus and the film’s director and writer Matthew Weiner, better known for his work in television on Mad Men and The Sopranos. (Meanwhile, co-star Zach Galifianakis skipped the premiere, and the after-party, when his wife went in labour.) Poehler was the most effusive of the cast, laughing uproariously, cracking wise with Ramsey about the standard starlet red carept photo pose and taking pics on her iPhone (flouting the club’s strict no cameras rule!). Lapkus preferred to hang out by the bar with a friend, but the Orange Is The New Black star did drop by Poehler’s spot, giving her a giant hug before the two parted ways. We also spotted Paul Giamatti at the bar, texting on his Blackberry—apparently, not all creative-types have switched to the iPhone—before a representative at the house whisked him away to a dinner upstairs.
