The swag series: George Stroumboulopoulos's celeb guests take ketchup chips and Clamato back to the U.S.

What it is: Guests of Strombo’s new show, George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, get their pick of some sweet swag in the Made in Canada Lounge at CBC headquarters. Housed behind the set in an area normally cordoned off for props, the space has been transformed into a CanCon cloud nine complete with furniture from The Bay and Queen West shop

Design Republic.

Who goes: Last year, Drew Barrymore, Snoop Dogg, Michael J. Fox and Viggo Mortensen walked away with Canadian goods. This year, the guest list for the show is still in the works—confirmed so far are Zach Galifinakis, Will Ferrell, Juliette Lewis and Josh Lucas.

What they get: A heaping serving of Canadiana: maple syrup (it’s classed up in understated Ninutik bottles), tuques, Tim Hortons, caesars (we always love explaining Clamato to Americans), Canada Goose jackets. The ketchup chips, not available outside Canada, are a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the Great White North. In what is probably one of the most male-friendly lounges of the season (note the number of places available for a hair-makeup touch-up around TIFF hot spots), guys can pick up cool bow ties from Gregory Allen, Oliberté chukka boots, and a Local Celebrity tee. Of course, the gals aren’t forgotten: fold-up flats from Damn Heels (also featured at Tastemakers), girly 1920s-style hairpieces from Nadeau Millinery and floral high-heel booties by Ron White are on offer, too.
