The Being Erica BS Detector: Season 3, Episode 9

Based on last week’s comments, some of you aren’t so fond of Ivan and Dave, the two bearish owners of Goblins coffee shop who have been getting a lot of play in season 3. We’ve got to say that for the most part, we agree. Why must these characters be so cartoonish? We still haven’t recovered from that scene a few weeks back where Ivan leers at the two dudes making out in the supply closet like he’s looking for supper. Because, of course, that’s what gay dudes like to do. Come on, Being Erica! A little dimension would be nice.

This week’s Dave/Ivan storyline involved Dave secretly buying engagement rings, which eventually forced Ivan to reveal that he had taken a walk on the bi-side with Julianne during Pride. (Specifically, he felt her boobs—another highly uncomfortable viewing experience, but we digress.) When Dave finds out, he is furious and accuses Dave of cheating with a woman. So what we want to know is, would it be better or worse if he cheated with a guy? And for that matter, does a boob squeeze among friends qualify as cheating?
