On our way home last night, we decided, on a lark, to check out the Toro After Dark space at Pears on Avenue Road. No official events were scheduled, but we thought it the perfect low-key come-down after the insanity of Slash’s appearance at Tattoo Rock Parlour. Imagine our surprise, then, to find Josh Brolin being escorted into the space with Paul Haggis. Smart phones lit up the room and tweets about the unlikely celeb sighting flooded the Internet. Little did the crowd know that the best was yet to come.

The next unexpected A-lister to arrive was Javier Bardem, who spent most of the night chatting with Brolin, we presume about No Country For Old Men. The latter appeared to be doing the lion’s share of the talking, gesticulating wildly (finger points, big arm circles) to make his point. We ran into Haggis later, as he was texting on the patio, but the three  appeared to be getting along well—they had even been spied together earlier in the night at Soho House, partying it up at bash to celebrate Bardem’s new movie, Biutiful.
